Our developer client, on converting this magnificent sandstone townhouse set in Glasgows’ bohemian west end; had a clear vision that each of seven apartments should be individualistic, having a luxurious feel which would be both contemporary and yet sympathetic to the buildings classical features . They were hoping to include central islands with seating if possible, together with creating areas of visual interest. Room shapes and existing window positions however, would be tricky testing our design teams’ skills.
Designer Shaun Dunbars’ interpretation of the brief was to consider each kitchen with a totally different approach. Working closely with developers Bryan and Jonathan, Shaun ensured each design felt authentic with clean lines and understated colours, selected in a toned manner to sit sensitively within each space. Shaun included bespoke open sections creating lighter open feel which assisted with the transition to formal seating areas
